Can the Thule Aspect DSLR Backpack only be used as a backpack for camera equipment or is it more multifunctional? We had to answer this question because we were looking for a new backpack and a holiday in South Africa was ahead of us. After intensive research, we decided on the Thule Aspect DSLR Backpack, which more than fulfilled all our expectations during our holidays. What makes the Thule Aspect DSLR Backpack* the ideal travel companion? ( the best selling camera bags*)
Thule Aspect DSLR Backpack – requirements
The Thule Aspect DSLR Backpack is advertised as a multifunctional digital DSLR camera backpack with individually adjustable storage space, quick access to equipment and high wearing comfort in any environment. Our requirements were completely different, however, as we didn’t want to stow large DSLR camera equipment, but were looking for a backpack in which we could safely store our home equipment (cell phone, tablet, etc.) and our travel documents and other items.
What we particularly liked about the Thule Aspect DSLR Backpack* was the flexibly adjustable storage space and the large compartment on the top. The following equipment had to be stored safely for the South Africa holiday:
- one iPad Pro + keyboard with power supply and charging cable
- one SKROSS PRO World + USB* – travel adapter including USB charging port and one SKROSS adapter for South Africa*
- our travel camera, a Canon PowerShot G7 X Mark II* plus charging station and replacement battery
- einen Gimbal, Selfie Stick sowie mehrere USB Kabel etc.
The compartment on the top side has been equipped with
- our guide Cape Town and Garden Route*, which by the way was perfect for our chosen route, and
- a RFID travel organizer* that contained our passports, tickets, vouchers, expressions and fit perfectly into the top compartment. ( the best RFID travel organizers *)
All the equipment found its place without any problems and was safely stowed away. The storage space in the inner compartment can be adjusted using foam inserts. The power supply units and the camera were well fixed. The iPad and the keyboard were stored in the laptop compartment on the back. This is rather narrow and for an iPad just too small for a laptop.
It is also very good that the zippers of the inside pocket and the upper compartment meet in the middle and all zippers can be secured with only one lock. The workmanship is flawless, the zippers are smooth-running. We did not use a waist belt when wearing the zippers. The backpack sits comfortably and can also be carried over longer distances.
The backpack is not small and, due to the internal padding, always remains in the shape shown, even with a small load. It is therefore perfectly suited for longer tours with the appropriate “load”, but rather little for the small city stroll.
The TFL Conclusion
The Thule Aspect DSLR Backpack has fully met our expectations. We were able to transport our equipment safely and comfortably. A clear recommendation for us.
